CENGİZ GEBİTEKİN

He was born in 1961 in Konya. He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1985 and completed his thoracic surgery specialization training that he started at Yedikule Thoracic Surgery Center in England in 1990. Gebitekin, who worked as a thoracic surgeon in different centers in England between 1990 and 1995, returned to Turkey in 1995 and started to work as a thoracic surgeon at Uludag University Faculty of Medicine. He received the title of Assistant Professor in 1997, Associate Professor in 2000, and Professor in 2007. He worked monthly at three different centers in the United States. He has contributed to more than 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 15 book chapters. He is still working at Uludag University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Thoracic Surgery.
