BERNA AKOVA BUDAK

She graduated from Ulubatlı Hasan Anatolian High School in 1995 with high honours and began her medicine education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine English Division in 1995 with high grade achievement in university entrance examination. She graduated in 2001, completed her residency training at Uludag University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology between 2001-2005 years. She fulfilled her compulsory state service at Gumushane State Hospital between 2006-2007. She worked at Afyon State Hospital Hastanesi and private eye clinic in Bursa. She was appoited as ophthalmologist to Department of Ophthalmolog , Uludag University in 2010. She studied corneal transplantation, eye banking, corneal biomechanics and corneal infections at Department of Ophthalmology, Homburg University in Saarbrücken , Germany and at Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in USA between 2010 and 2011 for 6 months as visiting observer. She was given “ Associate Professor in Ophthalmology “ in 2016. She passed basic, optic, clinic and advanced examinations of ICO and got the title “FICO” . She was elected as young scientist to give the SOE lecture entitled“An update on microbial keratitis management “ at Turkish Ophthalmology Congress on behalf of European Society Of Ophthalmology in 2017. She is a member of Turkish Ophthalmological Association, ESCRS, ASCRS and ARVO. The studies that she contributed achieved “ hot topic” title at ARVO international congresses held both in 2016 ve 2017. She got “ Certificate of Appreciation “ from Ministry of Health for her contribution to increase in corneal transplantion rate in Turkey by corneal transplantations that she performed.
