Department’s Brief History
The department, which was conjoined with the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery until 2002, was established in 2002 as its own department with a faculty member and an attending. The department, which started to provide services in its new clinic with 12 beds in 2011, currently serves with 3 faculty members, 16 clinical and 2 intensive care unit beds. Since the day it was established, Thoracic Surgery Department has had the necessary surgical approach in all pathologies related to Thoracic Surgery.
Resident Training Process
Thoracic Surgery Assistant Training period is 5 years, with 1 year of rotation.
