BEDRETTİN AKOVA

Dr. Bedrettin Akova graduated from Bursa Erkek Lisesi in 1987. He completed his undergraduate education in Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Medicine in 1993 and received specialization training in Sports Medicine between 1993-1998 in the Department of Sports Medicine of the same University. He is still working as a full-time professor at Department of Sports Medicine. He has been working as Assistant Chief Physician at Bursa Uludağ University Hospital since 2008. Dr. Akova has been a member of the Turkish Sports Medicine Association since 1995, and served as a member of the science and education commissions and board of directors between 2006-2010. He has been a member of the American College of Sports Medicine since 2000. Dr. Akova was the President of the National Sports Medicine Congress held in Bursa in 2011. Since 2010, he has been the head of the Sports Medicine Specialization Curriculum Commission of the Ministry of Health Medical Specialization Board (TUKMOS).
