EMİN HALİS AKALIN

Halis Akalın was born in Finike, 1963. He graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1980 and graduated from İstanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1986. Between 1986 and 1989, he completed his obligatory service and military service. He became an Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology specialist at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. He was at the Institute of Medical Sciences at Virginia University in the USA in 1996. In 1999, he was awarded the title of associate professor and in 2005, he became a full professor. He worked as a vice dean for JCI accreditation at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine between 2001 and 2008. He worked as a member of the board of Turkish Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Association and worked as the head of the Antibiotic Resistance Working Group between 2007 and 2013. He represented the Faculty of Medicine at Uludağ University Senate from 2011 to 2014. He has been working as the head of the Infection Control Committee since 2006 and for the Turkish Society of Hospital Infections and Control since April 27,2016. He is still working as a professor at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department.
