MAHMUT YAVUZ

He was born in Karaman on April 20, 1960. He completed my first, middle and high school education in the same city. He entered Bursa University Medical Faculty in 1978 and graduated on September 17, 1984. In 1985, He completed my two-year compulsory service in Sivas-Sarkışla-Kazancık Village (1985) and in Bursa Alacahırka Health Center (1986).

 

On August 22, 1986, He started to specialize on internal diseases in Uludağ University Medical Faculty. On 19 November 1990, I became an internal diseases specialist with my thesis entitled “The Effect of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor Enalapril on Proteinuria and Other Kidney Functions”. On November 20, 1990, He started my sub-branch study in the Department of Nephrology. He did my military service between January 1993 and March 1993.  He  was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine on June 18, 1993. On April 5, 1995, He became a Nephrology Specialist with the thesis entitled “Comparison of the Effects of Calcium Carbonate and Calcitriol Combination and of Aluminum Hydroxide, Calcium Carbonate and Calcium Acetate on Secondary Hyperparathyroidism and Bone Mineral Density in Hemodialysis Diseases”. He worked in the establishment of the Department of Rheumatology in Uludağ University. For many years He worked as faculty member in the Department of Nephrology-Rheumatology. We have trained 3 Rheumatologists. On October 12, 1995, He was appointed as Associate Professor in Nephrology Department. In 2001, He was appointed as Professor in Uludağ University. He took part in the initiation of peritoneal dialysis in Turkey and in the establishment of TULIP, an international working group. Since then, He have been working as a faculty member at the Department of Nephrology, in Uludağ University Medical Faculty.
